Employee satisfaction is predicated on acknowledging how many employees enjoy their work on a day-to-day basis. In other words, how happy are they? Applying this type of survey is also great way of gaining insight into not only how to create but also reinforce an enjoyable work environment.
Employee engagement surveys can tell you a lot about employee morale and of course, the overall satisfaction of your employees. Use them to gauge satisfaction in different areas, such as career development (e.g. personal growth / education) , workplace, salary/benefits, communication and more.
Questions may vary depending on your goal with an employee satisfaction survey. However, a good first question for any survey is ‘ How happy are you at work?’ (with the standard open answer section for an explanation). Additionally you can gauge loyalty by asking for an NPS (‘How likely are you to recommend us..’) or ‘Would you re-apply for this job’?. Alternatively, if your goal is collect their feedback on all areas of work, it might be helpful to collect a rating for each area (using star rating, number scales, etc).
